Today was a good, hard working day.
We starting working on blends this week with our word wall words and boy did we make some good lists. We got through sh, ll, and sh blends, tomorrow we will finish with ch, and wh blends. Would you help me brainstorm some words for these two letter lends?? Take a look at the lists below to see some of what we came up with today.
st words - star, start, strike, stop, just, master, step, paste, trust, strength, sister
ll words - still, stall, all, spelling, I'll, ball, will pill, yell, Willow, Billy, drill, pillow, dill
sh words - share, lush, crush, shush, shovel, finish, shivering, shape, shock, shout, dish, plush
This afternoon we read to ourselves. In class we are still trying to earn hockey cards. Help me at home too, to earn as many as I can before the year is over.
In math, we are working on our subtraction strategies. Will you help me practice at home too? Give me 3 subtraction questions with numbers from 0-20 and I will show you 2 ways to solve the equations! Lets do this for addition too!
To end the day we learned about the habitat of bats!
-the place they live is called a roost
-they hang upside down
-they are nocturnal animals which means the sleep during the day and hunt at night
-ask me 2 more facts about bats!
